CCTV demand in the Middle East Unaffected by Crisis

The financial crisis may be threatening to reverse the property boom in the Middle East, but it has yet to dampen demand for CCTV in the region.

According to IMS Research, the surveillance market in the Middle East is expected to grow by 30 per cent over the next five years.

The report predicts that the global surveillance market will grow by over 10 per cent in 2009 and, if vendors expand into developing regions, then 2010 onwards promises higher growth.

“It is imperative to realise that the global financial crisis is affecting particular market verticals and geographic regions in different ways,” said IMS analyst, Alistair Hayfield.

Market growth is forecast to recover significantly in 2011 and 2012 as the trend to network surveillance continues, states the report.
